Always Scrolling: Reece Feldman

Always Scrolling is PAPER‘s spotlight on our favorite TikTokers in fashion, beauty, lifestyle and more. Keep reading to discover this week’s viral sensation: Reece Feldman.

Reece Feldman is the social media guru on all things entertainment. With more than 2 million followers across his accounts, he collaborates with Hollywood’s biggest studios.

“I have spent the past four years and most of my time devoted to working in the film industry,” he tells PAPER. “I work on the sets of many movies and TV series as a social producer, and I also host red carpets for premieres and award shows. Instagram is the platform I use to share all of my work adventures. Some of my favorite past work includes working the carpets of the Oscars, Emmys and Golden Globes, and working on the sets of The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Hunger Games and Scream VI.”

Below, PAPER chatted with the film buff about behind-the-scenes moments on Hollywood sets, going to the Met Gala and his favorite coffee shops in NYC.

What do you love about what you do?

Quite simply, I love film and TV. It was how I made sense of the world growing up, and all I ever wanted was to inspire that same interest in others. My favorite part of what I do now is helping others discover their new favorite shows and movies, and Instagram is one of the main ways I am able to effectively do just that. Whether it is accompanying Christopher Nolan to an IMAX theater to discuss Oppenheimer, or showing the cast of Twisters enjoying BBQ, I just want audiences to have an “in.”

Who is another Creator on Instagram that you love right now?

Elisha Zepeda. He’s an illustrator/designer who artfully crafts book covers. His reels showcase his creative process and the work he puts into each design. He shows the options he creates for the publisher and reveals if the work he designed was chosen. While I love that he showcases his process and communicates that process so well visually, what I particularly love the most about his content is that he shows the designs he made that were not chosen, not as failures but as equally valuable works in their own right.

What’s one of your favorite looks you’ve posted?

A full Thom Browne look that I wore to this past Met Gala. It was my first Met Gala, and it was an outfit I had been eyeing for years. Walking the carpet, I felt so authentically myself in that outfit and confident in a way I had rarely felt before. Plus, I held a little dog purse which became a fun internet meme!

What’s an Instagram trend that you love right now?

“Unfortunately I was not selected to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.” This trend showcases people failing at their respective sports in ways I did not know were possible.

What’s a good book you’ve read recently?

I recently read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson, and also Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. AGGGTM was so much fun and combined the coming of age and mystery genres so well. Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies ever so I had always wanted to read the book. After finally doing so, I was so pleasantly surprised with how different the two are. The book is so cynical in a way the movie isn’t, and it does such an amazing job of going into the failures of the island. After finishing the book and rewatching the movie, I now love both even more as two separate objects.

Favorite restaurant in NYC?

While I don’t know my favorite restaurant (I like to cook), here are some of my favorite coffee shops: Brooklyn Roasting Company, Hidden Ground, MUD and bodega/deli iced coffee (specifically Bagelsmith).

What are five songs you have on repeat right now?

“Sexy to Someone” by Clairo, “My Kink is Karma” by Chappell Roan, “Calling After Me” by Wallows, “After Midnight” by Phoenix featuring Clairo and “american dream” by LCD Soundsystem.
